Sweet Potato and Chard Dal

I have gotten into Indian food. It is always so flavorful, and with my Southern heritage, exotic as well. The combination of vegetables and spices that are available really keep food from ever being boring! I hope you enjoy this slow cooker recipe to spice up your dinner. Typically it is served with rice (brown basmati rice is easier to find than ever) but often I serve it over steamed greens instead, especially if you are insulin resistant or diabetic.
